Cindy

"What we are doing is exercising our
freedom of speech, we are exercising our
First Amendment rights to peaceably assemble.
We all know that this war, this occupation of
Iraq, is illegal and immoral." - CINDY
SHEEHAN
CINDY SHEEHAN, in August
2005, put a public face to the human cost
of war when she camped outside President Bush's
Crawford, TX ranch and demanded an answer to
"What noble cause did my son die for?"
Thousands of Americans responded by going to
Crawford to join Cindy at Camp Casey over
the three-week sit in. To support her
effort, MoveOn.org organized a
nationwide vigil - 800 communities
participated. Cindy commemorated the
2000th death of an American soldier in Iraq by
placing a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery
in Washington, D.C. The following day, she
placed a wreath at the Iraqi
Embassy.
