DCF
launches "Leave No Activist Behind"
program

New Program for Students
Launched by Dream Catcher Films,
Inc.
4/22/09 is Earth
Day
Americans are proud of our heritage,
our founding fathers, our constitution and
our democracy. But sometimes we need to
be reminded that we have to participate for it
to work. By participating in the
"Leave No Activist
Behind" program, you can help
insure that the next generation takes an active
interest in protecting democracy in
the U.S.

With a new administration at 1600
Pennsylvania Ave., led by Barak Obama, a former
community organizer, the climate is right for
young people to become enthusiastic about
public service. We want to make sure
that the next generations remember
what happens when the voices of dissent aren't
listened to. One powerful reminder is our
documentary Finding Our
Voices.
We are reaching out to universities
to license Finding Our Voices
so that professors of political
science, history, social work, and those
in peace studies will ask to have the film
added to their libraries... so that tomorrow's
students will be empowered.
But we can't do it alone, we need your
help!!!
And, you can be rewarded
with a t-shirt for
helping!!
You can help make sure no activist is left
behind -- talk to any university professors you
know about the film and be an advocate.
We would be glad to send them our promotional
materials
Also, if you've seen the film, please
write a short personal
recommendation and e-mail
it along with the contact info of
suggested advocates to Holly Stadtler at dreamcat@gmavt.net.
In return, we'll send you a free Democracy
is Not a Spectator Sport t-shirt; check it out
on our site:
This is an opportunity to find your voice
and reach future students just as these
organizations have: University
of Minnesota, Duluth; American
University; Dartmouth; American College of
Thessaloniki, Athens,
Greece; and New Haven Free
Public Library!
Finally, it's always appreciated when you
direct students, professors, librarians, and
others to our site: http://www.findingourvoices.com/
Screenings on War's 6th Anniversary
-- Wrap Up:
Finding Our
Voices
screened in 5 cities 3/18
& 3/19 to diverse, thoughtful
audiences. Based on comment cards rating
the film on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being
superb, 72% rated our
film a 9 or 10!

Following the film, we
featured wide ranging discussions
between audience members
and moderators (our 3 producers, Sue
Niederer and John Bruhns who are profiled
in the film, and special guests Col. Mike
Turner and Jen
Berger). Comments ranged
from those of a young woman concerned that the
army still isn't providing sufficient armor for
her father in Iraq, to a man who is evading
taxes to protest the war, and
included a former soldier
turned pastor who supports our
efforts.
If you have a minute, check out
the great press reviews on our
website, especially Rick
Kisonak's!!!
Our newsletter will continue to keep you
posted of more meaningful events. If you
are not on our Mailing List, now's an excellent
time to join. If you're already a member,
please forward this newsletter to a
friend.
